Adult Sunday School

Equipping DisciplesAvail yourself to more of God’s grace in Sunday School!  Beginning 9:30 AM

Summer Quarter 2019 (June 9th to July  28th)

Here is a brief description of our Summer quarter class offerings.

This short but powerful epistle from the Apostle Paul was written to a church in Asia Minor (modern day Turkey) that was being tested by Greek and Jewish philosophies that challenged the Christian’s  acceptance by God through Christ alone.  Some dominant themes of Colossians are Jesus in creation, reconciliation, the sufficiency of Christ, freedom from the law, Christians in the world, angels, and the role of music in the church.  This class will be taught by Pastor Adam Peeler, and assisted by Ruling Elder Brian Cochrum.

The Lord’s Prayer

When the disciples asked Jesus how to pray, little did they know they would be given a model for prayer that would be used for generations.  Prayer is central to our fellowship with God, and our prayer life is directly affected by what we believe about God.  Dr. R. Albert Mohler Jr. shows that the pattern of prayer Jesus provides is few in words, yet massive in meaning.  His prayer reflects true theology and proper doxology – a perfect guide for our own lives.  This is a Ligonier video teaching series taught by Dr. Mohler, with the class facilitated by Scott Sethman, Howell Tucker, and Mark Gilzean.

YFF (Young Family Fellowship)

The YFF aims for younger members and couples, but welcome all ages, and serves as a small group for young families that cannot commit to a weeknight small group.  There is more time for sharing, prayer, fellowship and just getting to know one another.  YFF will be watching an RC Sproul video series which explores Justification.  A time of discussion will follow each video. We are on the same schedule as all of the other adult classes.   For more information contact Michael Pope, Sid Warren, Sandy Brown or Norm Dunkin.  They meet in Room 141.
